ROODBAR

Roodbar is a foothi city of gilan. It is located on the slope of alborz and talesh mountains, besides sefidrood river, and along the dense olive gardens. Since it is an en route city, a lot of passengers stop for a short while and buy the main product of roodbar, i.e. olive and its by-products. Roodbar is located in the south of gilan and enjoys a Mediterranean climate ranging from mild winters and a bit humid to hot and dry summers.

It should be mentioned that the beautiful sceneries in the highlands covered with evergreen olive trees, refreshingly mineral water; along with the ancient cultural and historical records among which the marlik hills is the most remarkable one made roodbar such a popular tourist destination. The city called in some other names in the past as khoshkeh roodbar, mohammad zamnkhani roodbar, zeytoon (olive) roodbar, and pildeh roodbar. Perthaps the name roodbar is called because of the flowing sefid rood river through the city. Roodbar history dates back to 6000 years ago. It is composed of four districts of central, rahmat abad & blookat , khorgam and amarloo.
